First, watch this video of the Bubblegum Sequencer:
I’d like to see one of these in every “please touch” style children’s museum across the country. It is incredibly simple to interact with and the physical object used, a large format bubblegum ball, is playful. The entire concept breaks down a barrier for creating electronic music and would teach children that music is something anyone can do. The project takes advantage of one of the few areas of computer vision research that’s actually largely stable by recognizing colors and shapes.
